Responsibilities

Sound knowledge of structural engineering fundamentals
Able to use Revit to navigate a model and review and coordinate with other disciplines
Performs work involving the application of all conventional aspects of structural engineering to the functional area of the assignment
Excellent verbal communications and technical writing skills
Conceptualizes the initial engineering design approach for major phases of projects or has production management responsibility (not responsible charge) for the civil/structural engineering work on a project of limited scope
Resolves a variety of complex problems, (i.e. conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements)
Ability to prepare a complete set of plans and growing in ability to manage and supervise the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with the project team and other constituents
Prepare schedules; conducts or coordinates civil/structural engineering work
Review plans, prepares/reviews technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates
Participates in contract bidding and administration
Maintains close contact with the client throughout development of the project design and drawings
Work alongside functional departments to fulfill corporate needs
May be asked to travel to out of town assignments

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with Structural Focus or related engineering degree
Minimum 3 years of experience in structural design
Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam
