SRC Tutor I - Electronics Technology

They are seeking a SRC Tutor I in Electronics Technology to tutor students, assist with daily activities in the resource center, and maintain accurate records while adhering to privacy regulations.

Responsibilities
Tutor students through drop-in, by-appointment, and/or semester-long tutoring (online and/or in-person) electronics technology courses by helping students understand concepts clearly
Refer students to appropriate resources within the relevant resource center and larger Academic Resource Center
Refer students to appropriate resources outside the relevant resource center/Academic Resource Center with consultation/direction from the relevant supervisor
Maintain accurate and detailed records, adhering to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and keeping appropriate staff updated on student progress and problems
Assist in the daily activities of the center, cover the front desk and checkout resources when needed , ensure students are checked in/out, help maintain a positive, clean, and organized center space and make sure students follow the policies of the center
Assist students with computer systems/software and help students troubleshoot computer problems as they impact tutoring operations
Use the appropriate scheduling system to manage and maintain tutoring schedules
Participate in mandatory center training and other campus-wide training opportunities as appropriate
Follow good work ethics by reporting on time at the center and staying the whole time according to the schedule and reporting absences in advance if possible; if not, in a timely manner so that alternate arrangements can be made
Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity, may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing. Scheduling, shift assignments and work location may be changed at any time, as required by business necessity

Required
Requires basic skill set and proficiency
Conducts work assignments as directed
Closely supervised with little latitude for independent judgment
Requires high school diploma, with successful completion of Electronics courses offered at JCCC
Preferred
Individuals with Electronics Technology Certificate
