Responsibilities
Execute environmental remediation projects, including planning, coordination, sampling, execution, data analysis, and technical reporting phases
Conduct comprehensive field investigations utilizing standard field practices and equipment for the collection of samples, including soil, groundwater, soil vapor, surface water, sediment, and potable water
Apply a strong foundation in natural sciences (chemistry, physics, biology, hydrogeology, and mathematics) along with engineering principles to explain environmental observations and develop effective solutions to complex environmental issues and problems
Assist with environmental remediation system design, construction, and operation
Ensure environmental compliance by reviewing environmental regulations and supporting environmental permitting and other compliance needs
Gather, interpret, and organize diverse environmental data sets using spreadsheets, graphs, or models, as appropriate
Oversee and effectively manage subcontractors, assuring strict adherence to work scopes, project specifications, and rigorous safety requirements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related science (geology, chemistry, or physics) from an accredited university
Valid driver license is required
Experience (2-5 years) in environmental remediation, environmental engineering, or geology/hydrogeology, ideally with involvement in the environmental remediation realm
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences within a multidisciplinary team
Availability for overnight travel (up to 50%), typically for less than one work week
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and work in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) clothing, including a respirator
Amentum will provide 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER or refresher training if the selected candidate does not already possess this certification
Preferred
Experience with Pennsylvania's Land Recycling Program (Act 2) or Hazardous Sites Cleanup Act (HSCA) is beneficial
Professional registration (E.I.T or G.I.T.) is preferred but candidates actively working towards one of these designations will be considered
