Padmore Global Connections is seeking a self-motivated and dynamic individual to join the Coastal Regional Commission's GIS team. The role involves preparing local GIS street data for the Georgia Department of Transportation's statewide road network, including editing road centerlines and coordinating with local governmental entities.

Responsibilities

Assist with Local Government GIS Collection effort

Prepare local GIS street data for inclusion in GDOTs statewide road network

Edit road centerlines and associated road characteristics

Coordinate with local governmental entities to obtain data and verify ownership of roads

Use geospatial data in the creation and production of GIS maps and data

Prepare and deliver reports to the immediate supervisor and others

Qualification

ESRI ArcGIS 10.xGIS principlesShapefilesGeodatabasesData validationTechnical agilityCommunication skillsDetail-oriented

Required

Completion or near completion (in process) four-year college degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field

Proficiency with the ArcGIS 10.x Desktop software suite

Working knowledge of the ESRI ArcGIS 10.x Desktop software suite

Detail-oriented and highly skilled using the ArcGIS editing tools

Familiar with shapefiles, personal/file geodatabases, geodatabase topology and editing in a SDE multi-user database

Familiar with querying databases and able to validate data

Technical agility, focus, flexibility, enthusiasm and vision to complement and enhance the team

Ability to coordinate, plan, and support simultaneous tasks and GIS projects

Ability to query data

Ability to prepare and deliver reports to the immediate supervisor and others

Ability to use geospatial data in the creation and production of GIS maps and data

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Preferred

Experience with creating and editing GIS data

GIS work experience with a city or county government agency
