Padmore Global Connections is seeking a Database Administrator to design, implement, maintain, and optimize critical database systems. The role involves ensuring high availability and performance across production and development environments while collaborating with various IT staff to support application development and data integration.

Responsibilities

Design, install, configure, and maintain enterprise-level database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, etc)
Monitor database performance, tune queries and indexes, and manage storage to ensure optimal performance and uptime
Ensure data integrity, security, and backup/recovery processes meet organizational and regulatory requirements
Develop and maintain documentation related to database architecture, standards, and procedures
Lead initiatives related to database migrations, upgrades, and consolidations
Collaborate with developers, data analysts, system administrators, and other IT staff to support application development and data integration. Activities include environment setup and IIS settings for security and performance for applications
Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., ETL, PowerShell, cron jobs)
Manage network demands and requests with provider to ensure Agency complies with State government regulatory standards
Participate in capacity planning and disaster recovery strategy development and testing
Ensure compliance with data governance and data privacy regulations
Provide 24/7 support for mission-critical systems as needed

Required

Candidate MUST be local to Metro Atlanta
US Citizen or GC-Permanent Resident
Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
Proficiency with Microsoft SQL
Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux/Unix environments
Shell scripting, PowerShell, or similar for automation
Experience with native and third-party backup/recovery tools
Ability to optimize queries and server resources
Knowledge of access controls, encryption, auditing
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
Strong collaboration and leadership capabilities

Preferred

Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Microsoft SQL Server
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes
Experience with .Net programming languages (C#)
Experience with network Firewalls
Experience with PowerApps, Power BI Services, Power Automate
