B2B Business Development Manager - West Coast

They are seeking a Business Development Manager to join their US Operations team in Los Angeles, responsible for expanding their partner network and managing the entire sales cycle from outreach to closing deals.

Responsibilities

Own the full partner lifecycle: from cold outreach to onboarding, relationship management, and performance tracking
Drive outbound sales: perform high-volume prospecting via email, phone, and in-person visits—especially in the first 1–2 months
Build and grow our partner network in your region, including independent bike shops, large retailers, and OEMs
Source and negotiate the best possible inventory of second-hand electric bikes
Travel extensively to meet with partners, understand their needs, and build long-term relationships
Act as the face of Upway in the market—representing our brand with professionalism, integrity, and passion
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, marketing, and product teams to ensure a seamless customer and partner experience
Deliver against ambitious targets while maintaining a high standard of execution and attention to detail

Required

3+ years of experience in business development, B2B sales, sourcing, or partner management, ideally in a fast-paced or startup environment
Proven track record of owning a sales pipeline and closing deals
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills —you know how to build trust and influence decisions
High energy and self-motivation—you're comfortable working independently, managing your time, and pushing through ambiguity
Experience with in-person client interactions and field sales
Strong organizational skills and bias for action
Passion for sustainability, mobility, and making an impact
Willingness to travel frequently (up to 50%) and be based full-time in Redondo Beach, CA
