Responsibilities

Operates a variety of radiology equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes as directed by the Radiologists, in accordance to established protocols

Assists physicians and other clinical staff with obtaining films, images, and other records using the Radiology PACS or hospital information systems

Explains procedure to patients, giving opportunity for questions to reduce anxiety and promote trust

Delivers and ensures customer service in all aspects of job

Qualification

IEMA licensureARRT(R) certificationACR/JCAHO compliance knowledgeRadiology equipment operationCPR Certification

Required

High School Diploma or GED

Knowledge of all current American College of Radiology(ACR)/JCAHO requirements in order to maintain compliance with all rules and regulations

IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) licensure or 'notice of IEMA compliance and authorization to perform medical radiation'

At a minimum, must be a candidate for ARRT(R) (American Registry of Radiological Technology) certification (i.e., Certificate of Program Completion or a letter from the Radiology Program Director of the accredited school.)

Certificate of Completion or a letter from the Radiology Program Director from the Radiology School attended

Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or Red Cross

Preferred

A minimum of an Associate's Degree or higher, preferred

Prior x-ray experience in a surgical environment, preferred
