Senior Controls Engineer

The Senior Controls Engineer will support the plant's process control systems and ensure efficient communication between the operational technology and IT networks, while also optimizing machine logic and troubleshooting equipment.

Responsibilities
Support the OT network; work with IT and controls to establish and maintain communication
Develop network communication plans, equipment specifications, and installation requirements for the successful integration of machines into the OT/IT networks
Support existing automation and implement new machine automation
Drive improvements in proactivity, safety, quality, plant availability, production rates, and production costs
Work in a team environment to support plant operations, maintenance, and capital projects
Troubleshoot equipment and develop permanent solutions to recurring issues
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain clear and consistent communication
Respond to incidents, including natural disasters, in a timely and efficient manner to maintain plant production
Maintain data and redundancy on all OT devices to ensure they are serviced, patched, backed up, and warrantied successfully
Qualification
Required
Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation and controls; Discrete manufacturing environment preferred
Excellent technical and engineering skills, communication skills including being a team member, leading group meetings, multi-tasking, and use of problem-solving tools
Experience with networks, firewall rules, and security concepts required
Ability to bridge the technical and executive levels of the business and explain to both
Knowledge of machine controls, sensors, I/O, drives, and instrumentation required
Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLCs and Factory Talk HMIs
On-call production support as needed
Preferred
Hypervisor experience preferred
Experience integrating machines with the Ignition platform preferred
A+ Certification (or equivalent) preferred
Knowledge of Active Directory, Linux, Windows (server and 10/11), DNS, DHCP, ethernet, standard computer components, and WiFi
Experience with Fanuc robots preferred
Experience with Cognex vision preferred
Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred
