Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a Vice Chair of Research to oversee and enhance the Department’s research efforts in clinical, basic, and translational fields. The successful candidate will work closely with the Department’s Director of Research Operations and play a key role in advancing research in gynecologic cancer and women's health.

Responsibilities

Oversee and build the Department’s clinical, basic and translational research

Support the training of the next generation of researchers and physician-scientists

Increase breadth and impact of the Department’s clinical, basic and translational research

Report directly to the Chair and work in close collaboration with the Department’s Director of Research Operations to optimize and oversee all aspects of the Department’s research

Serve as a member of the Department’s Executive Leadership Council comprised of departmental Vice Chairs and Division Chiefs

Qualification

Research in gynecologic cancerGrant support experienceLeadership skillsCommunication skillsMentoring experienceTeaching commitment

Required

Hold credentials at MD, PhD, MD/PhD or equivalent

Have proven track record in grant support, ideally from diverse funding sources, including federal, philanthropic and industry support

Possess excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills with ability to foster inclusive, multidisciplinary teams

Demonstrate substantial research productivity as evidenced by impactful peer-reviewed publications and mentoring of other investigators

Strong commitment to teaching
