Responsibilities
Implement engineering principles to safely achieve and maintain customer requested test conditions for various test articles with new or current test equipment
Develop specialized skills unique to specific test equipment to understand its operation (temperature/pressure/flow instrumentation, data acquisition and reporting)
Working with manufacturing engineering to analyze infrastructure capabilities vs. test equipment needs
Troubleshoot test equipment when equipment unable to achieve desired inputs or outputs. Request quotes and justify repairs, then make arrangements to implement and document repairs
Generate and maintain test equipment preventive maintenance documentation
With the support of manufacturing engineering and maintenance maintain test equipment for efficient use of utilities (natural gas, water, compressed air & electrical)
Research, justify and implement new products and technology in test laboratories
Establish calibration needs for test equipment, approve calibration certificates
Write and approve test reports (limited to confirming test accuracy, correctness of test conditions to requirements) after testing completed
Standardize test set ups and instrumentation procedures
Effectively supports quality document creation and maintenance (Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Nonconformance Corrective Action Reports (NCARs), Work Instructions (WI)…) as related to the test lab
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field
5+ years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably in HVAC, refrigeration, or industrial equipment production
Working knowledge of Lab View and Microsoft Office applications
Strong problem-solving and project management skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience presenting to leadership
