Primary/Secondary Education

Responsibilities

Safely escort children and pedestrians across streets, ensuring compliance with traffic regulations
Monitor traffic flow to ensure safe conditions for crossing
Use handheld stop signs or other signals to alert drivers when pedestrians are crossing
Maintain vigilance at assigned crossing areas to prevent accidents or dangerous situations
Report any hazardous conditions or incidents to appropriate authorities or school officials
Provide assistance and direction to children and pedestrians as needed
Communicate effectively with school personnel, law enforcement, and parents regarding safety concerns
Attend training sessions as required by local authorities or the school district

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required
Knowledge of traffic safety laws and regulations
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Strong observational and communication skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions

A positive attitude and willingness to work with children and the public
