Responsibilities

Plans for surgical procedures by assembling instrumentation, equipment, and necessary supplies

Maintains the integrity of the sterile field by utilizing knowledge of aseptic technique

Assists surgeon and physician assist (P.A.) with activities at the sterile field

Participates and engages in center activities

Functions as a leader for surgical team

Performs sterilization of equipment

Assists with maintaining a clean and safe surgical environment

Pro actively plans and participates in requirements for surgical case

Helps to contain supply costs

Performs other duties as assigned

Surgical Technologist CertificationBasic Life Support CertificationAseptic TechniqueSurgical InstrumentationPatient CareSterilization ProceduresTeam Leadership

Required

Graduate from an accredited surgical technologist program

Certification required to obtain: Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire

Medical Technician - NH Board of Registration of Medical Technicians

A minimum of 1 year experience as a surgical technologist
