SaxeCap is seeking an experienced Forward Deployed AI Engineer for their AI transformation team. The role involves driving product development and mentoring engineering staff while engaging in the full development lifecycle across various sectors and problem areas.

Responsibilities

Drive product development
Mentor our engineering staff
Play a role in our full development lifecycle, from design, implementation, and testing to documentation, deployment, delivery, and maintenance
Analyze and design solutions to solve clients' business problems in tight iteration cycles

Qualification

Required

Have experience building web applications and/or data product APIs for 3+ years
Have owned, deployed, and maintained software products (full life cycle)
Are an expert with Python (inclusive of Flask, Pandas, etc.) and/or Javascript (inclusive of React), our main languages
Experience with SQL, data modeling, analytics, and cloud
B.S. in Computer Science, or related field
Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills with the ability to approach problems logically and systematically
Well-organized and a self-starter, having the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Understanding the business implications of technical decisions, the capabilities, and limitations of technology
Strong communication and technical skills
Ability to ideate creative approaches to solve complex problems
Attention to detail and desire to probe further into data
The desire to learn new technologies quickly
Enjoy working on hard algorithmic, infrastructure, scaling, distributed systems, and performance problems
Have demonstrated the ability to work independently
Great interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different products and teams

Preferred

Experience with data engineering, integrations, and data pipelines is a plus
Some experience with generative AI (e.g., RAG systems, AI agents, fine-tuning models, etc.) and data science (e.g., data analysis, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, recommender systems, neural networks, etc.) is a plus
Experience in customer-facing roles is a plus
Experience managing software development teams is a plus
