Financial Planner Wealth Management
Bank of Hawaii is seeking a Financial Planner in Wealth Management to deliver comprehensive financial and estate planning solutions to clients. Responsibilities
Comprehensive Wealth Planning: Develops and presents customized financial and estate plans based on client data and goals. Supports relationship managers with visual materials and planning tools to deliver holistic wealth solutions. Assists in creating or updating seminar content as needed
Technical Assistance: Offers expert guidance on complex planning scenarios and techniques. Responds to technical questions from business partners and conducts research to support accurate, informed advice. Contributes to the development of articles, client communications, and marketing content
Business Partnerships: Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal teams and business units. Proactively shares project updates and timelines to ensure alignment. Participates in special projects and supports team collaboration and issue resolution
Systems Analysis: Analyzes and designs systems or processes to meet business and functional needs. Identifies opportunities to improve performance standards and workflow efficiency. Ensures designs comply with Bank of Hawaii’s information security policies
Knowledge and Leadership: Maintains up-to-date knowledge of financial planning, tax laws, and wealth management products. Demonstrates expertise in areas such as estate planning, retirement, education funding, and trusts. Actively engages in professional development and training opportunities
Vendor Management: Supports vendor oversight to ensure service levels and delivery commitments are met. Helps to resolve performance issues and escalate concerns when necessary. Identifies ways to enhance functionality, reducing costs, and improving system efficiency
Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with major in accounting, finance, law or related area or equivalent work-related experience
Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience
Proven ability to interpret financial data and analyze a variety of financial statements with accuracy and insight
Working knowledge in several of the following areas required: Income, gift, and estate tax laws and regulations, Estate and financial planning tools and techniques, Fiduciary duties and responsibilities, Investment products and services, Investment markets and portfolio management
Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft Office applications or similar software
Excellent oral and written communication skills including interpersonal skills
Must be analytical, organized with excellent problem-solving skills
Must have a collaborative work style with the ability to work in a team environment
Should be an independent worker who drives assigned tasks through to completion
Must be detail oriented with the ability to meet competing deadlines
Able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings as needed or assigned
Preferred
JD and or LLM preferred
Prior experience in estate planning is strongly preferred
