Marine Electrician II

They are seeking a Marine Electrician II to support ship repair and modernization projects, focusing on the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems aboard vessels.

Responsibilities
Inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain electrical/electronic systems, circuits and equipment, to include but not limited to HM&E Systems and Combat Systems Ship Alts, Mach Alts, SCDs, Temp Alts
Set up, check, and correct operational and experimental electrical machinery, circuitry, and equipment while adhering to pre-established guidelines and engineering specifications
Perform installation of equipment, including drilling of mounting holes and penetration requirements
Perform all cableway management aspects, including but not limited to cableway inspections, banding, opening and closing cable penetrations, perform OQE requirements of inspections, terminations, and penetrations
Perform component and/or system troubleshooting to diagnose the problem and provide most cost-effective recommendation for completing repairs
Perform on-site field service for system grooms and checkouts, minor repairs and system configuration validation
Inspect and test electrical systems and equipment to locate and diagnose malfunctions, using visual inspections and testing devices
Assemble, fabricate, and perform testing requirements utilizing multi-pin connectors and fiber optic connections, to include but not limited to, any repair and replace cables and connectors
Work involves participating in the installation and maintenance of AC and DC generators, switchboards, distribution panels, lighting, and alarm circuits
Utilize standard concepts, practices, and procedures in industry and NAVSEA Standard items
Perform additional duties outside of your standard responsibilities as needed to support production and project completion
Qualification
Required
Read, interpret, and understand simple schematics and blueprints
Applicant must be familiar with NAVSEA, standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of electrical repair, fabrication, and installation
Ability to foresee problems, write reports and give suggestions for solving those issues
Must have or have the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance and must be able to obtain DBIDS and be able to access local shipyards and US Navy bases
Must possess basic hand tools
Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States
Must be able to pass an Audiogram & Respirator Fit Test
Preferred
Must be Cableway Certified
Certified in 'Multi-pin' Connectors IAW MIL-STD-20035A (SA)
Certified in Fiber Optic: CFOS/O, CFOS/C, CFOS/S, CFOS/T, CFOS/FC
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), fiber optics and integrated network system experience are preferred
Target 5 to 7 years of experience as a Marine Electrician with previous supervisory responsibilities
