Army Technical Support Strategic Advisor

Responsibilities

Conduct independent reviews of acquisition plans and strategies to ensure compliance, effectiveness, and alignment with software development best practices
Provide expert advice on the use of innovative acquisition techniques and best practices for software acquisition, such as modular contracting, open source procurement, and rapid prototyping
Review Army, Joint, and OSD strategic planning documents to help draft guidance for the PM
Develop and implement acquisition strategies that align with organizational objectives and program requirements
Identify and assess acquisition risks and develop mitigation strategies
Advise program managers on the selection of appropriate acquisition approaches, contract types, and sourcing strategies
Help build input and responses to Army taskers on strategic planning documents
Provide subject matter expertise to challenged programs with regular program status updates to the PEO

Required

Must have US Citizenship and an active Secret security clearance
A Master's Degree and 10 years related work experience. 3 additional years of experience, and a BA/BS, or an additional 6 years of experience without a BA/BS may be substituted for the Masters degree

Preferred

Direct experience with senior leader communication of complex technologies
Direct experience with defense software development processes
Direct experience with conducting senior leader forums to independently review program technologies
