Sr Attorney - Complex Litigation
NextEra Energy Resources is one of America’s largest wholesale generators of electricity, and they are seeking a business savvy trial attorney to support litigation matters involving renewable energy projects. This role involves providing legal advice, anticipating legal risks, and ensuring compliance with budget while managing complex legal issues across multiple states.
Responsibilities
Provides written and oral legal advice to clients
Anticipates and guards against legal risks involving the organization
Works to ensure budget compliance and avoids the need for outside counsel
Ensures disclosure of potentially material legal issues to senior leadership
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Member in Good Standing of State Bar
High School Grad / GED
Juris Doctorate
Bachelor's Degree
Experience: 5+ years
J.D. from an accredited, top-tier law school
5+ years practicing law, preferably with a top law firm or in in-house roles of increasing responsibility
Experience with e-discovery, depositions, and briefings
Excellent trial and management skills
Commitment to develop a deep understanding of NextEra's business
Ability to guide internal and external clients with clear, practical advice in a fast-paced environment
Collaborative, flexible, self-motivated, curious, creative, and clear communicator (both written and verbal)
Preferred
Judicial clerkship preferred
