Reno Orthopedic Center is a busy clinic looking for an MRI Technologist to join their team. The role involves obtaining high-quality MRI images to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations while maintaining imaging excellence.

Responsibilities

Operate high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce radiographic images of patients' specific body parts

Operate a Magnetic Resonance (MR) scanner to obtain images used by physicians, determine appropriate imaging techniques, and operate console and peripheral hardware

Screen patients for MR safety, explain the MRI process and address patient concerns prior to performing scanning

Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and ensure patient and staff safety

Evaluate MR scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately

Document imaging performed, appropriate charges and other necessary information in patients' electronic medical records and Patient Archive Communication System (PACS)

Maintain quality control measures in accordance with American College of Radiology guidelines

Follow quality assurance guidelines including positioning, markers, demographics, and coning to ensure optimal images before releasing image to physician

Prepare radiology department daily including cleaning, stocking, and sanitizing work areas and equipment
