Administrative Intern – FQHC (HR, IT, Marketing, Billing, HIM, or Finance)
Third Street Family Health Services is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) seeking student interns to gain experience in various administrative and operational departments that support community-based healthcare. Internships are available in Human Resources, IT, Marketing, Billing & Finance, and Quality Improvement, providing hands-on experience alongside professionals in a mission-driven healthcare organization.

Responsibilities
Assist with patient billing, claims processing, and insurance verifications
Support finance staff with reporting, audits, and reconciliations
Gain exposure to healthcare revenue cycle operations
Assist with recruitment, onboarding, employee file maintenance, and policy tracking
Support HRIS data entry and audit projects
Participate in staff engagement and compliance initiatives
Provide support with help desk tickets and troubleshooting hardware/software issues
Assist with EHR systems, telehealth platforms, and cybersecurity procedures
Document and update IT protocols and user guides
Create content for social media, newsletters, and outreach campaigns
Support internal communications and public relations efforts
Assist with event planning, website updates, and patient education materials
Assist with data collection, tracking, and analysis for clinical and operational quality measures
Support reporting on UDS, HEDIS, and other FQHC-specific metrics
Participate in process improvement projects, audits, and compliance reviews
Help create tools, dashboards, and documentation to support organizational quality goals
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program related to business, public health, healthcare administration, IT, marketing, finance, or related fields
Seeking internship or practicum hours for academic credit or professional development
Strong interest in healthcare operations, systems, and community health
Strong organizational and communication skills
Able to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA and organizational policies
Proficient with Microsoft Office and/or relevant tools based on department
Third Street must have an affiliate agreement on file with the school
