Interventional Radiologic Technologist

Responsibilities
Assist physicians with image guided minimally invasive procedures in the diagnosis and treatment of disease
Maintain sterile technique, operation of equipment, quality assurance of imaging and compassionate patient care
Obtain all equipment needed for a procedure, positioning and imaging patients, resolving equipment issues
Demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy, radiation safety, interventional supplies, and equipment operation
Prepare, administer, and document contrast given throughout procedure
Corroborate a patient's clinical history with procedure and ensure information documented and available for use by clinician
Provide good communication, patient assessment, and patient monitoring
Post process digital data for display or hard copy records, ensuring technical quality and proper identification is evident
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology
Minimum 1 year of experience working independently in radiology
Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
Proactively maintains and renews ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training
Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment
Must be familiar with age specific criteria
Ability to perform job functions while standing
Ability to perform job functions while sitting
Ability to perform job functions while walking
Ability to climb stairs
Ability to work indoors
Ability to work from elevated areas
Ability to work in confined/cramped spaces
Ability to perform job functions from kneeling positions
Ability to bend at the waist

Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders
Ability to reach in all directions
Possess good finger dexterity
Ability to fully use both legs
Ability to fully use both hands/arms
Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs. unassisted
Ability to lift/lower objects 15 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted
Ability to lift from 36 inches to overhead 15 lbs
Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes
Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance
Ability to match or discriminate between colors
Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction
Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements
Ability to work in a latex safe environment
Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required
