Responsibilities

Perform a full range of CT examinations and diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality images for interpretation
Operate and maintain CT scanners, MRI, X-rays, fluoroscopy, and other imaging equipment as assigned
Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, ensuring both optimal imaging results and patient comfort and safety
Follow radiation safety procedures and apply proper techniques to minimize exposure
Initiate IV access, administer contrast material when needed, and monitor patients for adverse reactions or complications
Maintain accurate and thorough patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system
Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of care
Maintain sterile techniques and adhere to infection control protocols
Ensure compliance with VA regulations, infection control standards, HIPAA policies, and The Joint Commission requirements
Perform quality control procedures and ensure equipment is properly maintained and functioning
Participate in on-call rotations and respond promptly to emergency and after-hours imaging requests
Assist in training and mentoring new technologists, students, or other clinical staff as needed
Provide excellent patient care, with a focus on safety, dignity, and respect throughout the imaging process

Required

Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work on a team
Excellent communication and time management skills
Must be able to successfully complete the AMI Credentialing Process
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
Associate or bachelor's degree in radiologic technology
AART certification
BLS certification
Must be able to work in a safe manner following all safety rules and regulations
Must work as a team member to improve safety culture and quality
Read and follow instructions. Demonstrate safe work behavior
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
Must be able to push, pull, reach, and bend frequently
Deliver targeted, culturally appropriate information to help individuals and groups understand health promotion and disease prevention information, policies, regulations, and local code
