Building Maintenance Tech
The City of Murfreesboro is looking for a Building Maintenance Tech to perform maintenance and maintain plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems across multiple city buildings. The role involves conducting inspections, troubleshooting issues, and scheduling routine maintenance to ensure the safety and efficiency of the facilities.

Responsibilities
Must be able to communicate with others in spoken and written English to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the business
Inspects buildings and grounds; ensures safety issues are addressed
Conduct minor electrical, plumbing and building repairs
Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance inspections, minor repairs and general maintenance on HVAC, plumbing and hot water systems for multiple buildings
Schedules all routine maintenance checks on filters, fire alarms, etc., on a timely basis and maintains related records
Plans preventative maintenance schedule; schedules preventive maintenance on buildings' mechanical and electrical systems on a timely basis and maintains related records
Minor carpentry work, drywall repairs, painting of interior walls and removal of graffiti on exterior walls
Troubleshoot and perform minor electrical repairs on buildings power and lighting system or contracts larger repairs on mechanical equipment, buildings, and grounds
Assists in maintaining the Civic Plaza Fountain
Moves, repairs and assembles miscellaneous office equipment and furniture
Performs other work as assigned
Qualification
Required
Requires High School diploma or GED equivalent
Formal training, special courses or self-education with equivalent to satisfactory completion of one (1) year of college education or closely related field
Requires over two (2) years in building maintenance and repair or closely related
Must have a valid driver's license
Preferred
HVAC Preferred
Ability to take and pass the NATE HVAC Certification
Ability to take and pass the EPA 406 certification
Ability to take and complete the Cross-Connection Course
