Propulsion Test Engineer

Responsibilities

Responsible for the development, maintenance, and operations of propulsion test hardware (including facilities and test rigs)
Collaborate with other engineers and technicians over a wide range of disciplines, including propulsion, manufacturing, flight software, GNC, and vehicle systems engineering to develop prototypes and products

Required

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other related engineering discipline
3+ years of experience designing/operating fluid systems, mechanical systems, and instrumentation
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
Available to work overtime and weekends
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to read and provide feedback on technical documents
Willing and able to travel to support propulsion/flight test needs
Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Work at elevated heights and in confined spaces
Lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
Stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces
Work outdoors, in all weather conditions
Must either be a 'U.S. person' as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing

Preferred

Hazardous operations experience
Knowledge of engineering standards and best practices such as ASME B31.3, ASME BPV Code Section VIII
Knowledge of Command and Control systems and hardware
Experience in test, evaluation, and operation of propulsion or turbomachinery systems
Experience with operation and integration of high pressure fluid systems (tubing/piping, instrumentation, controls)
