Senior Engineer- Cost and Value Engineering

Responsibilities

Knowledge and experience partnering with suppliers to make cost improvements
Conceptual or theoretical activities related to the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. Includes the analysis of static (structural) and dynamic (Rotordynamics, vibrations) behavior of mechanical systems
Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility
Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Leads projects both independently as well as through partnership to deliver cost reduction. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost or value engineering, or in an engineering role working closely with suppliers
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))

Preferred

Master's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
Established project management skills
