Responsibilities

Interact with patients and their families in a caring, considerate manner

Provide care with the highest regard for the patient's mental, spiritual, and physical well-being

Perform vascular studies to include: Carotid duplex, Aorta duplex, Vein mapping, Venous duplex, Arterial physiology studies, Arterial duplex, Renal/SMA arterial duplex, Arterial By-Pass grafts, Dialysis Access grafts, pre-op dialysis access evaluations, venous insufficiency exams, and ABI's

Deliver services to infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in all areas of the hospital, within the laboratory setting, and in the physician office setting

Make diagnostic testing available 24 hours per day/seven days per week

Perform duties and responsibilities with indirect, minimal supervision and make many independent decisions

Qualification

Registered Vascular TechnologistPeripheral vascular testingHealth Science degreeAHA BLS certificationCustomer service

Required

Registered as a Vascular Technologist required within one year of employment

Prior experience performing peripheral vascular testing required

Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served

The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and posses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures

Must maintain current AHA BLS certification
