Periop 101 Internship - New Grads and Experienced RNs
The University of Vermont Medical Center is offering a Periop 101 Internship for new graduate and experienced RNs. This course prepares registered nurses for entry-level practice in perioperative nursing with a focus on intraoperative care, including hands-on clinical experience in various surgical services.

Responsibilities
Prepare registered nurses for entry-level practice in perioperative nursing
Complete didactic online web-based learning modules
Participate in preceptored clinical experience with emphasis on circulating in the operating room
Rotate through various services such as ENT/Dental, Plastics, General, GYN, GU, daVinci Robotics, CVT, Ortho, and Neuro during the internship
Achieve completion of the AORN web-based course and receive a certificate of completion and CEUs
Complete orientation including AORN Periop 101 Test and certification
Qualification
Required
State of Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license required or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont required, or a graduate nurse who is license-eligible for the first time
For new grads: NCLEX- RN must be passed prior to the start of the program
