Avocet Hospitality Group is seeking a friendly Host / Server Assistant for their fine-dining restaurant, The Vendue, dedicated to providing memorable guest experiences. The role involves welcoming guests, managing seating, assisting servers, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction in a dynamic and creative environment.

Responsibilities

Welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner, ascertaining their dining needs

Seat guests and manage the seating chart

Monitor restaurant activity to determine seating and dining flow

Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner

Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately

Assist with table setup by ensuring clean and properly arranged utensils, napkins, and tablecloths

Greet all guests at their table immediately and obtain their choice of bottled or tap water

Serve food and beverages to guests promptly. Check on tables periodically to ensure guest satisfaction

Assist servers with refilling beverages and water, resetting & bussing tables. Assist the waitstaff with any additional tasks as required

Update Host on the status of tables throughout the shift

Perform opening and closing duties, as needed

Perform sidework for opening, during shift, and closing as appropriate

Help fellow team members and other departments wherever necessary to maintain positive working relationships

Required

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Ability to work under pressure, be organized, be self-motivated, and work well with others

Ability to read, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests

Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely with minimal supervision

Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance with the ability to work a flexible schedule which may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays when business requires

Ability to stand, walk, talk, and hear for long periods of time. Requires normal range of hearing and vision

Frequently required to use hands and arms to reach and handle. Frequently required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch

Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate computer systems

Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 30 pounds

Ability to adapt to an ever-changing and sometimes stressful work environment
