LaBella Associates is seeking to support their growing geotechnical department in the New York southern tier area. The role involves performing geotechnical field services, laboratory testing of soil samples, and preparing evaluations and reports.

Responsibilities

Perform geotechnical field services, which may include subsurface exploration layouts, drilling and test pit inspections, geophysical surveys, and construction monitoring

Perform visual classification and laboratory testing of soil samples collected during the subsurface investigation

Prepare subsurface exploration logs for use in geotechnical evaluations and reports

Perform geotechnical evaluations and prepare report drafts for senior review

Required

B.S degree in civil engineering or related field

0 - 3 years of progressive experience in the geotechnical field

Driver's license required

Position will require out of town field work based on workload (approximately 40%)

Position will require ability to lift 50 pounds

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Possess a high capacity for self-motivation

Ability to apply engineering principles to a variety of geotechnical projects

Preferred

Prior experience in a geotechnical laboratory is preferred but not required

Engineer in Training (EIT) is preferred but not required
