Adjunct Professor, Online Masters of Legal Studies (MLS)
William & Mary Libraries is seeking adjunct faculty for the Online Masters of Legal Studies (M.L.S.) program. The role involves designing and teaching courses, providing timely feedback to students, and maintaining communication with faculty and staff.

Responsibilities
Prepare the syllabus and, with the support of Instructional Designers, update the relevant course modules as needed
Use the learning management system (Blackboard)
Work within William & Mary-specific online policies and procedures
Review course content, activities, and assignments prior to the term’s start date
Meet all designated course instruction guidelines
Provide students with timely and specific feedback
Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner and no later than by the deadline set by the law school
Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours
Offer weekly office hours for individual or group consultation
Submit final grades according to William & Mary policy and the individual program calendars
Submit end-of-semester feedback and reflection form
Maintain frequent and open communication with William & Mary faculty and staff through email, telephone, and any other medium deemed appropriate
Qualification
Required
Master's degree, Juris Doctor or equivalent, or other graduate degree directly related to the discipline from an accredited college or university
Expertise and relevant professional and/or instructional experience in general law education, compliance law, finance law, environmental law, healthcare law, or technology law (including AI and privacy)
Previous experience providing instruction to adult learners in an academic or corporate setting
Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills
Preferred
Other doctoral degree directly related to the discipline
Demonstrated excellence in teaching
Previous teaching experience at the graduate level
Computer proficiency and experience using Blackboard or other online learning platforms
