Responsibilities

Performs all breast imaging and dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) scans for the supervising physician to interpret
Collects patient’s clinical history, provides patient education and discharge instructions
Assists the radiologist in invasive breast procedures, maintaining aseptic technique
Operates mammography equipment to produce quality diagnostic images
Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others

Required

Produces high quality breast imaging procedures as established by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), American College of Radiology (ACR), and Mammography Quality Standards Act and Program (MQSA) guidelines
Performs all breast imaging and dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) scans for the supervising physician to interpret
Collects patient's clinical history, provides patient education and discharge instructions
Assists the radiologist in invasive breast procedures, maintaining aseptic technique
Operates mammography equipment to produce quality diagnostic images
Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others
Certification and Registration in Mammography, ARRT (required within six months of hire)
State Licensure (unless required by the state where the job is being performed)
Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required prior to direct patient care)

Preferred

Associate's from an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) accredited institute
1 year of experience as a registered mammography technologist
EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR)
Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS)
