Clinical Pharmacist Specialist - Internal Medicine, FT

Responsibilities
Provides accurate medication order-entry, drug distribution, and patient care. Confirms the appropriateness of drug therapy as it relates to the care of neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Seeks to minimize turnaround time for products and services
Actively participates and leads department and institutional committees and projects (e.g., performance improvement, formulary management, regulatory, patient safety, financial)
Provides concise, applicable, timely responses for drug information requests and other pharmaceutical care services through an on call service. Provides documentation in the patient care record when appropriate
Actively participates in representing Prisma Health within a professional organization through the provision of service, presentations, and/or publications
Provides experiential education, evaluation, and training for technicians, students, pharmacy residents, medical students/residents and new employee
Provides leadership and pharmaceutical excellence through direct patient care activities as a member of a multidisciplinary medical team
Shares clinical and scholarly activity that promote the evidence-based use of medications and advance the profession of pharmacy to a variety of audiences (represents Prisma Health within professional organizations through service, presentations or publications; provides education within didactic and experiential training programs and to postgraduate professionals, nursing and medical staff). Provides lab review, clinical services, patient education, and corresponding documentation via the departmental clinical initiatives
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an ACPE-approved college of Pharmacy
Two (2) pharmacy residencies or ten (10) years specialty pharmacy experience
Completion of 1 pharmacy residency with 4 years specialty pharmacy experience
Licensed to practice as a Pharmacist or eligible to become licensed within 4 months of hire date in the state the team member is working
Board Certification in Pharmacy
Thorough knowledge of medical and pharmacy terminology
Possess good mathematical, computer, and aseptic technique skills required
Knowledge of State BOP/DHEC/DEA rules/regulations required
Able to handle urgent, stressful working conditions required
Preferred
PharmD preferred
In the ambulatory setting, will accept BCACP in lieu of BCPS
