Responsibilities

Use high-field solid-state NMR and NQR to measure the local structure of materials
Use these measurements to predict structure/function relationships
Develop new equipment and methods for the safe measurement of radioactive materials

Required

Demonstrated experience in magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR, NQR, EPR, DNP)
A willingness to work with radioactive materials including U, Th and Pu
Strong technical and interpersonal communication and language skills both orally and in writing evidenced by a strong publication and presentation record
Creative and proactive approach to scientific problem solving
A Ph.D. in chemistry, material science, physics, engineering and/or a related field. The candidate must have completed all Ph.D. requirements by commencement of the appointment and be within 5 years of completion of the Ph.D

Preferred

Experience with data analysis and signal processing techniques using programming languages such as Python or Matlab
Experience in using DFT methods to predict NMR/NQR spectral parameters
Experience running custom experimental equipment
