New GradGuideStar Eldercare is offering a multi-dimensional, outpatient geriatric psychology post-doctoral fellowship where Fellows will work alongside licensed psychologists providing behavioral health and neuro-cognitive services to residents of long term care facilities. The role involves evaluation, establishing diagnoses, providing therapy, and coordinating care plans for patients with various dementia etiologies.

Provide evaluation
Establish different diagnosis, i.e. Alzheimer’s vs. Parkinson’s vs. Vascular
Cognitive Assessment
Provide condition-specific support therapy, or when indicated, insight-based therapy
Coordinate the patient’s care plan with the facility, PCP and GuideStar colleagues, and to engage with the family as indicated
Qualification
Required
PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology
Experience or interest in geriatric psychology, health psychology, and/or neuropsychology
Ability to provide evaluation and establish different diagnoses, such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Vascular
Willingness to accept challenges of working with an atypical geropsychiatric population
Flexibility to work in various care settings including Assisted Living, Skilled Short-Term Rehabilitation, Long-Term Skilled Nursing, and Secure Dementia/Memory Care units
Ability to coordinate patient care plans with facility staff, PCP, and family members
