Responsibilities
Reviews, analyzes and interprets data concerning a variety of financial activities and projects
Prepares periodic reports during the budget year highlighting departmental performance, efficiency and effectiveness of operations; provides suggestions for improvement
Provides backup support by cross-training in financial support functions ensuring operational continuity. Including but not limited to accounts payable and purchase requisition processes
Reviews of budget requests
Attends and participates in monthly budget meetings
Prepares journal entries and budget transfers as needed
Requests and receives grant funds from federal and state agencies; analyzes grant expenditures ensuring eligibility under the grant; prepares grant reimbursement invoices, reconciles grants for granting agencies and internal needs
Responds to information requests from external auditors and other departments
Develops and updates financial policies and procedures
Provides financial data for the annual National Transit Database (NTD) reporting. Assists with the annual transaction audit conducted by NTD
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED and seven (7) years of progressively responsible financial analysis experience, including two (2) years of supervisory experience
OR associate degree in accounting, finance or a related field and five (5) years of experience as listed above, including two (2) years of supervisory experience
OR bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field and three (3) years of experience as listed above, including two (2) years of supervisory experience
OR master's degree in accounting, finance or a related field and one year of experience as listed above: including one year of supervisory experience
An equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience will be considered
Preferred
Experience in governmental or commercial accounting or financial analysis
Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience
