Responsibilities
Design and deploy ML systems for recommendation, prediction, ranking, and optimization (e.g., clicks, conversions, user satisfaction)
Build and operate models and infrastructure that support hundreds of millions of requests per day
Apply systematic, reproducible approaches to model training, evaluation, and inference at scale
Collaborate with the Machine Learning Infrastructure (MLI) team to define system requirements and improve developer tooling and workflows
Lead or contribute to architectural design, technical reviews, and standardization of ML practices across the org
Mentor and support engineers across ML teams as a senior technical expert
Help evolve the ML interview process to better identify high-caliber candidates without compromising our technical bar
Qualification
Required
Extensive experience building and operating ML systems in high-scale environments
Demonstrated impact from ML systems that directly improved product performance or business metrics
Expertise in at least one of the following: recommender systems, ranking models, predictive modeling, or ML optimization
Strong coding and system design skills, with solid CS fundamentals
Proficiency with modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch, Keras, or JAX
Experience optimizing models for hardware accelerators (e.g. GPUs, TPUs)
Hands-on experience with distributed infrastructure – ideally as a contributor to frameworks like TensorFlow, Apache Beam, Dataflow, Flume, or Parquet
Familiarity with best practices in ML production, including data versioning, feature engineering, training pipelines, and model monitoring
