Responsibilities
Advancing regional technical structural engineering support of water and wastewater projects
Providing technical leadership to the existing structural team
Leading structural designs of facilities primarily in support of Water and Wastewater work
Coordinating and working closely guiding the structural portion of a multidiscipline design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects
Developing construction drawings, specifications, and supporting engineering calculations
Reviewing shop drawings during construction
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
A minimum of 20 years of experience
Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license
Extensive experience in project execution
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard design software
Must be comfortable being viewed as a technical expert in engineering analysis and design and have proven background of technical leadership on these types of project
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
Preferred
BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline required
Experience leading technical teams delivering structural design projects
Strong knowledge of structural modeling software such as STAAD or other 3D analysis and finite element modeling software
Technical expertise with environmental engineering structures
Willingness to be a technical resource and guide junior engineers
MS or MSCE Degree in Structural Engineering preferred
Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired
Willingness to represent HDR on ACI 350 Committee
Experience with condition assessment and concrete repair desired
Local candidates are preferred
