Responsibilities

Work as a key member of a highway/roadway design team in designing and analyzing hydraulics including storm drain system design, culverts, and water quality treatment design for moderate to large projects and work independently on smaller projects
Prepare or oversee the following design work using local, Caltrans, or FHWA standards: inlet design and spread calculations, storm drain pipe design and hydraulic grade line calculation, culvert design and analysis, and water quality treatment design and analysis
Prepare and oversee the following elements of various sizes of contract plans, specifications and estimates: inlet design and spread calculations, storm drain pipe design and hydraulic grade line calculation, culvert design and analysis, and water quality treatment design and analysis
Include preparing scopes, budgets and schedules
Manage the following work elements: day-to-day communication (verbal and written) with the client, support and advise junior engineers and technical staff, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with subconsultants, keep project on schedule and within budget, and keep client satisfied
Perform other duties as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree
Previous experience in general civil engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
Proficient and demonstrated applied experience with CAD civil engineering software such as Bentley Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Civil 3D; specialty civil platforms (e.g., Openflows) as required
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Good verbal and written communication skills
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred

California PE is preferred or ability to obtain via reciprocity within 12 months
Proficiency with InRoads, Microstation, AutoCad and/or other design software as appropriate such as Hydraflow, StormCAD, HY-8, GIS, and BAHM
