They are seeking a Nuclear Med Tech who will operate and execute Nuclear Med procedures with expertise, ensuring patient care and regulatory compliance while performing various diagnostic tasks.

Responsibilities

Prepares isotope kits, calculating doses and logging information according to policy and state regulations

Scans patient, using computer and/or camera according to physician's order

Injects patient with proper radiopharmaceutical agent according to physician's order, using sterile technique

Logs all necessary patient information according to policy

Receives, stores and disposes of radioactive isotopes according to policy and state regulations

Measures the radioactive dosage prescribed for a patient with a dose calibrator

Performs all quality control/quality assurance studies as necessary according to procedure, and as directed by the Radiology Operational Review Committee

Maintains records required by federal, state and The Joint Commission regulations

Maintains current Basic Life Support certification

Obtains and records all pertinent clinical information prior to examinations

Prevents cross contamination, using appropriate means

Adjusts technical factors to accommodate the age, body habitus, disease process and condition of each patient

Keeps supervisor informed of daily operation, activities and performance of department

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area. Knowledgeable of growth and development for all patient/family cultural, linguistic, spiritual, gender, and age specific needs. Able to effectively communicate and care for patient and family as reflected in the Plan for Provision of Care
