LaBella Associates is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their Buffalo, NY office, focusing on a variety of building projects. The role involves developing electrical system designs, collaborating with multi-discipline teams, and contributing to innovative, high-quality designs.

Responsibilities

Develop electrical designs for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security systems, and telecommunications

Perform load calculations for generators, transformers, switchgear, panel boards, VFDs, feeders, and branch circuits

Prepare design drawings, technical specifications, and engineering reports

Research and implement industry standards and best practices

Assist with building condition assessments and system evaluations

Work closely with mechanical, civil, and structural engineers, as well as architects

Assist senior engineers in multi-discipline project coordination

Communicate with clients, manufacturers, and contractors to address project challenges and develop solutions

Participate in project meetings and contribute technical insights

Stay current with industry trends, codes, and emerging technologies

Receive mentorship from senior engineers and take on increasing project responsibilities

Support project management efforts and contribute to proposal development as needed

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's or associate's degree in electrical engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field

EIT certification preferred; working towards or having PE licensure is a plus

Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering within an A/E consulting firm, or closely related industry

Experience with building system design. Healthcare experience is strongly preferred

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required

Familiarity with electrical modeling programs (e.g., AGi32 for lighting, SKM for power analysis) is required

Understanding of national, state, and local electrical codes

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
