8+ years expKimley-Horn is looking for a motivated High Voltage Electrical Engineer with substation design experience to join their Power Delivery team. This role involves project management responsibilities and coordination of multidisciplinary teams on high-voltage substation projects.
Civil Engineering
Responsibilities
Support project management efforts for high-voltage substation projects (69kV to 500kV+)
Assist with planning, scheduling, budgeting, and overall project coordination
Perform and review physical substation layouts, equipment selection, and design drawings
Coordinate with civil, structural, and protection/control engineers to ensure integrated project delivery
Communicate with clients to provide updates, gather feedback, and ensure satisfaction
Help prepare proposals, cost estimates, and project schedules
Maintain quality control and ensure compliance with applicable standards
Contribute to mentoring junior engineers and designers
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (EIT required; PE preferred or in progress)
Approximately 8 years of experience in substation engineering (physical, P&C, or both)
Familiarity with relevant industry standards (NESC, IEEE, ANSI, etc.)
Strong organizational, coordination, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Experience working with utilities, EPCs, or consulting engineering firms
