Veterinary Innovative Partners is a network of veterinarian-owned hospitals, and Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic is seeking a skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Technician Assistant to join their surgical team. The role focuses heavily on assisting with surgical procedures and anesthesia monitoring, ensuring top-quality patient care in a collaborative, modern veterinary practice.

Responsibilities

Triage patients and perform lab work/diagnostic imaging

Assist veterinarians in delivering top-quality patient care

Provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized patients

Prepare and maintain surgical suites, instruments, and equipment

Support anesthesia set-up, monitoring, and patient prep

Ensure sterilization protocols are followed before, during, and after surgery

Monitor patients through recovery and ensure comfort/safety

Communicate post-op care and medication instructions to clients

Manage surgical inventory, supplies, and records

Qualification

Required

Licensed Veterinary Technician in New York, or an experienced veterinary technician on track to obtain licensure within 6 months

Minimum 2 years of experience as a veterinary surgical assistant, including anesthesia monitoring

In-depth knowledge of surgical preparation, anesthesia protocols, and drug administration

Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to following strict safety and sterilization standards

Compassionate, collaborative, and confident handling animals of all sizes

Excellent communication skills with both clients and team members
