Responsibilities

Ensures that medical imaging equipment is repaired in a timely manner, works reliably, is safe to operate and functions properly
Consistently demonstrates a mastery of the skills necessary to perform preventive maintenance, quality assurance testing, equipment calibrations, installations, and corrective maintenance on a variety of imaging equipment
Support several technologies types including MRI, CT, PET, ultrasound, general and interventional X-ray, mammography, nuclear imaging, and linear accelerators
Provide input to the buyers on service related topics and coordinate with project managers, facilities projects, and the vendor to ensure the equipment is installed properly for optimum performance
Configure equipment to work properly on the hospital network, assure equipment firewalls, antivirus, and operating system software are properly configured, and work to ensure data security policies and procedures are being taken into consideration
Analyze electronic and electrical circuits, interpret error logs and formulate a complex repair plan while under pressure to get equipment working quickly
Run software and hardware diagnostics, take measurements, make adjustments, and perform functional checks during corrective and preventative maintenance
Use oscilloscopes, analyzers, multi-meters, dosimeters, and other types of test equipment during the maintenance process, and document results and activities appropriately per policies and procedures
Contend with risks such as stored energy, high voltage and ionizing radiation when working on equipment
Understand the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP) policies and procedures and regulatory agency’s guidelines
Be available for on-call and overtime as well as travel to other Mayo Clinic sites
Present a professional image and use excellent communication skills when dealing with staff, contractors, and vendors
