Responsibilities

Promote and uphold The McWane Way principles, values, and behaviors
Adhere to safety protocols outline in the Tyler Union Safety Management Program
Assist supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Follow ergonomic and safe lifting techniques
Perform daily equipment inspections and report any issues
Lead cross-functional engineering projects from concept through implementation, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met
Analyze foundry processes and identify opportunities for efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement
Design and implement upgrades to melting, molding, and finishing operations
Collaborate with maintenance, production, and quality teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
Develop and maintain project documentation including scope, schedules, budgets, and risk assessments
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations
Evaluate and integrate new technologies and automation systems
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and interns
Support capital expenditure planning and justification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Metallurgical Engineering
Five years of engineering experience in a foundry or heavy manufacturing environment
Proven track record of managing large-scale engineering projects
Strong knowledge of foundry practices, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, industrial ventilation, and fluid flow
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and project management tools
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills

Preferred

Master's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Metallurgical Engineering
PMP certification or equivalent project management training is desirable
