Christ the King Jesuit College Prep is a Catholic school focused on integrating academics, work experience, and extracurricular activities. The Assistant Varsity Girls’ & Boys’ Volleyball Coach is responsible for coaching student-athletes, developing their skills, and ensuring a positive team environment while assisting the head coach in various administrative and logistical tasks related to the volleyball program.

Primary/Secondary Education

Responsibilities

Assist the head coach in overseeing the varsity girls (fall) and boys (spring) volleyball teams

Instructs and demonstrates skill sets and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement in Volleyball

Works with the head coach to create practice and game schedules in conjunction with the Athletic Director (AD) and helps communicate said schedule to the athletes

Help ensure the proper cleaning, storage, and maintenance of all volleyball equipment, uniforms, and updates inventories before and after the season

Travels with volleyball players on the team bus both to and from away games

Secures athletic office, weight room, locker room, and gymnasium at the conclusion of all games and stays with athletes at the conclusion of all games and practices until parents have picked them up

Makes recommendations regarding the purchase of equipment, uniforms, and supplies

Review the weekly eligibility list to ensure that all student-athletes are academically eligible

Ensures all volleyball players are in the appropriate physical condition from the beginning to the end of the season

Models and instills the values of sportsmanship and fair play to all volleyball players and enforces consequences for breach of such standards

Maintains a safe environment and facilities for all volleyball players at all times

Stays up to date with all required paperwork and records, including completing injury reports for athletes within 24 hours of the injury (if the Athletic Trainer is not present), monthly Virtus training, and IHSA requirements

Follows and maintains knowledge of all school policies and procedures

Represents the school in a professional manner in any interactions with students, parents, faculty, and shareholders

Other duties as assigned by AD or the head volleyball coach
