Senior Science Writer - Development
The Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard is one of the world’s leading biomedical research institutes focused on understanding the biological roots of human disease. They are seeking a Senior Science Writer to create high-quality stewardship reports, fundraising proposals, and other materials, requiring the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into accessible language while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities
Writing and editing stewardship reports, proposals, and concept papers in partnership with scientists, frontline fundraisers, the Director of Development - Development Communications, and other team members
Overseeing writing, editing, and production timelines of stewardship reports; developing and executing other stewardship materials, including videos
Conceptualizing and producing materials needed for events, including talking points
Assisting with other projects as needed or assigned by the manager
Qualification
Required
Advanced degree in the life sciences
At least eight years of experience in science or medical writing
Strong preference for experience in development writing
Extraordinary writing skills
Proven track record of being able to produce clear, compelling, and accurate copy quickly
Strong work ethic and track record as a team player
Editing experience—including line-editing, copy-editing, and proofreading
Knowledge of the AP Style Guide
Diplomatic skills and sense of humor
