Responsibilities
Propose concepts to solve customer problems
Architect the system along with our customers by bringing to bear technology assets across Viasat Government and our partners
Develop the algorithms necessary to solve a wide range of DSP challenges
Build system solutions from your algorithms by transitioning them from simulations to instantiations on DSP/FPGA/GPU platforms
Floating-point simulation (Matlab) - Starting with a customer challenge, you will research, then design, the DSP algorithms required to tackle that challenge
Fixed-point modeling (Simulink) - Given the evidence provided from floating-point simulation, you will build a digital logic model that proves how logic blocks can process equivalent math within the constraints of the platform (when applicable)
Lab implementation support - From the fixed-point modeling, you will generate test vectors that must be matched by team members in the Digital group
Support the Digital team’s implementation and ultimately own the performance of the DSP algorithm as it is applied to the specific platform
