Ultrasound Technologist
Upstate Medical University is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist responsible for operating sonographic equipment and performing diagnostic examinations. The role includes managing daily operations of the sonography laboratory, preparing reports, and coordinating patient care while participating in on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities
Independent operation of sonographic equipment
Performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography
Daily operations of the sonography laboratory
Patient schedule management
Equipment maintenance and reporting of equipment failures
Using cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures
Maintaining a daily log of patients seen/completing exam tracking and charging
Performing all requested sonographic examinations as ordered by Clinicians
Preparing preliminary reports and contacting the referring physicians when required
Coordinating with other staff to assure appropriate patient care is provided
Addressing problems of patient care as they arise and making decisions to appropriately resolve the problems
Organizing daily work schedule and performing related clerical duties as required
Reporting equipment failures to the appropriate supervisor or staff member
Performing other related duties as assigned
Participating in 'On-Call' responsibilities
Qualification
Required
Graduate of an approved US Department of Education Ultrasound/Imaging program
RDMS certified in Abdomen and OB/GYN required
Current CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment
New graduates who are not currently RDMS certified in OB/GYN & Abdomen will be required to become certified within 1 year of appointment
Candidates with 1 year or more ultrasound sonographer experience will be considered for appointment to a higher level at a commensurate salary
