Staff Assistant
The City of Boston is seeking a Staff Assistant for the Boston Centers for Youth and Families (BCYF). The role involves directing patrons, answering telephones, and providing information on scheduling, programs, and community resources to the public.

Responsibilities
Provides coverage
Prepares office correspondence, vendor payments, program reports, and other related materials
Creates, updates, and maintains filing system, personnel time, attendance, and bookkeeping materials
Orders office, program, and facility supplies as required
Schedules appointments
Payroll preparations and distributions
Performs other related duties as required
Qualification
Required
Two (2) years of experience in administrative work is required. Appropriate education may be substituted for the required experience on a prorated basis
Working knowledge of computers: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
Ability to type 30 wpm
Ability to work effectively in multi-cultural, multi-ethnic work environments
Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job
C.O.R.I. & S.O.R.I. check required
BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED
Preferred
Good verbal and written skills are preferred
