Responsibilities
Lead our local civil team
Mentor junior staff
Support project team in development of civil design documentation, plans, specifications, and reports for project design elements
Prepare documentation required for stormwater permitting through local jurisdictions
Perform quality reviews for documents in various project phases including construction plans, reviewing agency submittal packages, and engineering calculation reports
Assist in preparing engineering calculation reports including but not limited to: stormwater design, potable water design and sanitary sewer design
Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants
Coordinate and keep consistent communication within a multi-discipline team
Assist in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other construction administration tasks related to the civil design component of the project
Assist in the evaluation and selection of civil systems and materials
Participate in value engineering and basic cost estimating
Perform calculations to analyze and design civil system components using company standard software
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
Registration as a Professional Engineer, or ability to obtain registration within 6 months required
Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in civil or land development design projects
Self-starter with diligent work ethic and strong attention to detail
Effective communication skills and ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought
Ability to visualize three-dimensional concepts and layouts from diagrams or drawings
Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the design team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and willingness to learn relevant software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, AdlCPR, StormCAD, WaterCAD, etc
