Responsibilities

You will support conceptual design and development of new Turbomachinery as the subject matter expert in one or more key areas

You will perform the necessary design trades, preliminary design work and analysis to support this

You will collaborate with the Turbomachinery Design team to put together high performing state of the art new turbomachinery detailed designs that are manufacture-able and flight ready

You will support existing Ursa Major Turbomachinery where applicable to troubleshoot performance or reliability issues in your area(s) of expertise

Required

Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering

5+ year's experience in turbomachinery design and development

2+ years' experience working with CAD software, preferably Siemens NX or PTC Creo

Comfortable working in fast-paced, startup environment

Significant experience / technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: Rotor dynamics; balancing fundamentals, Turbine stage aero-mechanical design, Hydrodynamic design of pumps / inducers etc., Turbomachinery detailed layout and design

Experience in a Turbomachinery related analysis software (ANSYS FEA, CFD or other specialized software as applicable)

US CITIZENSHIP, PERMANENT RESIDENCY, REFUGEE OR ASYLUM STATUS IS REQUIRED

Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
